Fall is truly my favorite season. I love hiking in the foliage, the sound of cicadas and campfires on chilly evenings. I grew up on an apple orchard in southern Vermont and have so many happy memories of picking apples and cooking apples with my family.
Cassidy celebrated her 2nd birthday in September and we celebrated by taking her biking on the Island Line Rail Trail. It was a perfect day full of bikes, boats, balloons, chocolate and even a stop at Snow Farm Vineyard!
This is our first fall season at the Inn and we have decided to go all out with decorations, a fall inspired breakfast menu and throw a pumpkin carving party for our community! Pumpkins are being donated by Chamberlin Farms, live music by The Onion River Gang and cider donuts from Chapin Orchard. Proceeds from the event are going to support Common Roots Inc: A non-profit organization located in South Burlington that brings food education, food access and land stewardship to our community.
I am a child at heart and I don’t think I have ever missed an opportunity to play dress up thus making Halloween one of my favorite holidays! Every year I carve SEVERAL pumpkins, watch scary movies and listen to Thriller on repeat! This year the Velvis family is going trick-or-treating dressed as Jurassic Park!
Although the summer was extremely rainy, fall weather has been fantastic! Cool foggy mornings burning off into warm blue sky afternoons. The mountain trails are in perfect condition and we have several biking/hiking adventures planned for October! If you ever see our little family out and about make sure to say hello!
