Happy New Year from the Velvis Family

December was a wonderful month full of Santa, nutcrackers, cookies and carols! Seeing the magic of Christmas through Cassidy’s eyes was a special experience. Santa brought her a bright blue sled and we are anxiously waiting to try it out! On Christmas morning, we served guests a luxurious buffet which included our English tradition of popovers and poppers!

December also marked the beginning of soup + bread + ale. The concept is elegant yet simple. House made soup and bread highlighting locally sourced ingredients and a pint of craft beer or cider. We debuted the Sinclair Inn signature beer: An Enchantment of Surpassing Excellence. This unique Vermont inspired ale is brewed and canned by our favorite local brewery Lucy & Howe. The feedback from soup + bread + ale has been so positive that we decided to open the event to the community!

Despite all the festivities and warmth inside the Inn, the outside weather has been less than favorable and the north country is still waiting for that first big snowstorm. So in the meantime, our family has been enjoying the indoor winter activities available in our community. Below is a list of our current favorites.

Purple Sage Located in The Essex Experience, this full service wellness spa is like no other! They have a Himalayan salt cave, ionic foot bath treatments, Tarot card reading and more! Kyle and I enjoyed an afternoon escaping the cold winter wind and we left feeling energized and rejuvenated.

Ale and Bean Located in our hometown of Jericho, this local gem is our new go-to hangout spot. They offer coffee and pastries in the morning, followed by ale and food in the evenings. There is a kids corner (always a win for our family) and they do trivia every Thursday!

Jericho Town Library and Jericho Center Country Store We are a family that loves to read! Our local library is absolutely adorable and they even have a children’s play zone on the second floor. Cassidy and I often spend Saturday mornings reading and playing followed by walking across the green to the country store to purchase fresh donuts.

Happy wintertime everyone! Pray for snow and hopefully we will see you on the slopes of Smugglers Notch Ski Resort very soon!
